Assessment Information
SAT tests are the statutory tests taken by primary school children to assess whether they have met age-related expectations at the end of each key stage.
Your child will have two sets of SAT tests: one at the end of key stage 1, when they’re in year 2 (6-7 years old), and a second in key stage 2, when they’re in year 6 (10-11 years old). SATs are taken in May each year.
Phonics
Children’s phonic knowledge is assessed through a phonics screening process at the end of year 1. This is in the form of a test administered on a one-to-one basis.
Teacher Assessment
Teachers carry out formative assessment throughout the school year. This continually informs their planning and teaching. Teacher assessment is validated through moderation activities and standardised tests.
Performance Tables
The following link will take you to the most recent performance data published by The Government relating to Forest & Sandridge CofE Primary School performance results at Key Stage 2. This information relates to our 2023 results. Key Stage 2 performance data for 2023 can be found here:
The government will not publish KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year. They have archived data from the 2018 to 2019 academic year because they recognise that the data from that year may no longer reflect current performance.
